The Foundry District takes its name from the ironworks that operated on the waterfront through the mid-20th century; several of the original brick foundry and warehouse buildings survive as residential loft conversions, and the neighborhood’s newer infill largely continues the flat-roof, steel-and-glass vocabulary those industrial buildings established. It’s the only neighborhood in Aspect’s coverage area where International Style houses genuinely predominate rather than appearing as isolated examples.
A harbor promenade runs the full waterfront edge, connecting a cluster of restaurants, a small ferry dock, and a Saturday market to the residential streets a block inland. It’s the most walkable neighborhood in the portfolio by a wide margin — daily errands, dining, and transit are all realistically reachable on foot, which increasingly draws buyers who are actively choosing to give up a second car.
