About This Property
The Monolith is the newest and largest house in Aspect’s current inventory, completed in 2022 from three interlocking board-formed concrete volumes set into a ridge-top lot. Structural glass corners — engineered without visible mullions or corner posts — let two exterior walls of the main volume meet in a single unbroken pane, a detail that drove a meaningfully higher structural-glazing budget than a standard curtain wall.
The southwest-facing terrace holds a cantilevered pool that extends past the building’s foundation line, its edge engineered as an infinity condition against the ridge view. That southwest orientation captures the longest run of afternoon-into-evening sun on the lot, which the architects balanced with deep roof overhangs sized specifically to shade the glass at summer solar angles while still admitting low winter sun. A ridge skylight runs the full length of the central stairwell, washing the concrete walls with direct light at midday that shifts to a raking side-light by late afternoon.
